Noice. Are those 18” wheels? I like them. Are you planning on much modification for this one or is it going to remain stock?

It’s a reflection. I wouldn’t have bought a car with a dent in it.

The seat inserts are gray in person.

And Eddie Bauer explorers are entirely beige inside.

So it is! Who would buy a car with a dent? Even if they are an elitist douche named Manual.

After driving a MK6 for three years, I didn’t feel like the interior was a downgrade. Some of the plastics are a bit harder, but overall I prefer this layout.

Seat aren’t quite as supportive as the excellent MK6 R seats, but I sat in them for four hours last night and they were extremely comfortable. The non-sport seats are not good IMO, and I didn’t like the base seats in the MK6 Jettas either.

Yeah, 18x7.5. They’re pretty nice...but on that note.

I’m planning modifications, yes. Luckily for my wallet there isn’t a whole lot out there for this car yet.

In the more immediate future I’m getting it tinted this week or next, and I’m ordering crossbars so I can mount my Thule box.

On that note...??? Do tell.

There’s a few springs out there if you’re looking to lower it at all. FWIW, the VW Driver Gear springs (I think that’s what they’re called in the states, Sport Spring Kit here in Canada) are a decent improvement, a bit firmer but still comfortable, less roll, dive and front end lift. All good things by me. I picked up crossbars for mine a couple of weeks ago now but I still have to get a bike carrier and a carrier for my kayak. I’ll get on that soon.

Let me know if the tinting place you go to can do the little triangle windows by the doors. Apparently they’re quite difficult to do.

I want wider wheels. I found a set of 18x9’s I have my eye on, that are also quite light.

The sportwagen rides like an inch higher than the hatchback. It’s ridiculous! KW doesn’t have a coilover kit for the GSW TDI yet, but they are at the top of my list. Very smooth ride coupled with great handling. Suspension upgrade is in the future for sure...not only is the ride height unacceptably high, but it LEANS in the corners! I threw it in a corner that would have kept the R flat and my GF teased me about the boat-like wallowing all weekend.

If I do tint the fronts it will only be a very light tint, like %70. If I can’t find a place that can do the front quarter windows I probably won’t bother with the fronts.

There is of course a tune and other basic boltons in the future, but not until the warranty expires. It’s a brand new engine, I want to make sure any potential issues can be ironed out if they arise during the warranty period.

Also considering a GTI front bumper. It just looks so damn good.

Do a tartan seat swap you know you want to

If I got a base ‘S’ model, I would be swapping in a complete GTI plaid interior.

But, I like my SEL seats.

That’s my hindrance with a tune too, the 1.8TSI was new for 2014 (when I bought mine) and is unproven (Europe gets a 1.8TSI as well but it has port and direct injection for emissions which helps against carbon buildup as well.)

210 or 220hp, so basically GTI power, on regular old 87 octane is so damn tempting though. I could have even more on 91 or 93, which is neat, though I’m thinking ~200hp would be a nice reliable place to be. I’m hoping eurodyne comes out with a tune for mine so I can get the flash tool and do it myself as required.

Just checked out their site and apparently they have more tdi wagons in stock then the dealerships close to me combined. Now this is giving me ideas.

Love it. VWhas been killing it with color combos recently. I was all set to buy a new Jetta TSI SE manual in beige with two-tone white/black cloth seats. I think they call it Ceramique. Local dealer had 4 SE manuals and must have been having trouble moving them they only wanted $15k. Then the clutch on my current car went out and it sold while mine was in the shop.
